Teaching kids about having a growth mindset encourages them to attribute their successes to their effort. It places emphasis on practice and determination, showing them that it's possible to grow and improve. The opposite is a fixed mindset, when we fall into the trap of thinking we're stuck, limiting out ability to achieve our goals.
A fixed mindset says "I'm bad at math" and a growth mindset says "I can practice and get better"
A fixed mindset says "I suck at drawing" and a growth mindset says "If I really want to be better at drawing, I can practice and improve"
This helps us as adults learn to shift, and praise them for their effort and practice, not only the outcome... :)
